Design
Reflecting the design language of the super-slim RAZR line of handsets, the KRZR K1m exudes pure luxury with clean lines, precision detailing and premium materials shrouded within a distinctive metallic gloss front finish. A 1.9-inch color screen on the inside of the flip brings images and videos to life, while a small supplementary color display on the outside cover keeps tabs on your incoming call information and more. The 1.3 megapixel camera is housed above this display. Below the display, you'll find unique touch-sensitive music controls. The KRZR K1m features an internal antenna, so there's nothing to snag or break off, and a MicroSD slot adds ample storage space to store content. Lastly, a mini USB port is provided for data synchronization.

Calling Features
From L.A. to Lisbon, the KRZR K1m connects you effortlessly with friends, family, and your favorite content. The phone supports voice activated dialing, as well as Bluetooth wireless headsets, so you can cut the wires and talk hands-free. Polyphonic ringtones are supported, and there's a speakerphone for those times when you want to talk while doing other things. Picture and ringer IDs allow you to set photos and ringtones to identify incoming callers.

Messaging, Internet and Tools
The KRZR K1m supports all the messaging tools you need, such as MMS, SMS, EMS, and IM messaging capabilities. With support for the EV-DO high-speed data standard, the KRZR K1m is fully compatible with Verizon's V Cast service. With V Cast, you can download and stream high-quality video. Need news and weather? Get the latest Accuweather forecast delivered right to your handset, or stream CNN news headlines. ESPN sports updates, entertainment news from E!, and even Sesame Street content for the kids, are all available. V Cast also serves as a portal for enhanced 3D games, allowing you to have more fun with a new breed of realistic titles.

Verizon's music service is another EV-DO-powered service that makes the KRZR K1m all the more desirable. With V Cast Music, your phone is a music player, letting you jam out wherever you are. It's also a music store, and you can download songs instantly to your phone wirelessly. Save your songs to a memory card with a capacity that's right for you. You can even pause to take a call without missing a beat.

The KRZR K1m ships with a number of handy tools including an alarm clock, a calculator, a calendar, and a voice recorder. It supports the Sync ML data synchronization standard over Bluetooth or USB.

Fusing superior form with rich functionality, the KRZR K1m houses a host of premium multimedia features. The ultimate all-in one device for extraordinary imaging, the phone lets you capture your latest adventure via the 1.3 megapixel camera, or via the camera's supported video capture feature. And don't forget that with a removable MicroSD card slot, there's always room for all your favorite music files. The phone supports playback of music in AAC, MP3, and AAC+ format.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad, but...   October 9, 2008
Helena Hawkins
I had this phone for almost a year before switching to AT&T. While Verizon isn't bad, Motorola certainly seems to have some issues with it. I liked my Krazr quite a bit--it was so sleek and shiny--but it tended to be a a bit slow and it lagged a lot. So while this phone is decent, I'd say go switch over to AT&T, AT&T has better connection and Verizon's phone supply doesn't have much variety :P

1 out of 5 stars A College Student's Nightmare   January 11, 2008
Emily Parker (Clarkston, MI)
I was first attracted to this phone for its sleek design, pearly color, and mirrored plating; and was pleased until I turned it on. After that moment things started going wrong: my contacts where jumbled up from the transfer from my old phone and I had to redo them all and my speed- dial didn't work properly. That was all fixed after a trip to two different Verizon stores and the phone was fine until I went away to school.
As a student getting up at the correct time is very important to me and I use my phone as my alarm, but for some reason this phone only goes off if it feels like it. It also constantly needs to be updated, and important aspects of the phone do not work as well if it is not updated. For me, the nearest store that will update it is 30 minutes from where I live and over 2 hours from where I go to school. There is also no Verizon store near where I go to school, making this phone very inconvenient. The mirrored plating can also crack very easily. I was told after mine cracked that it is made from metal and glass and the slightest amount of pressure could crack it. Mine cracked after being in a soft bag in the cold.
After all of the problems I have had I asked if I could have a new one and they said that it would cost $50, even though a new one costs $20 from Verizon.
Overall, this phone has a nice look, but is not worth the hassle unless you just want a phone for looks.

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone   October 10, 2007

I wasn't looking for a MP3 Player or a digital camera, I just wanted a good phone that got good reception. This phone holds a charge and I get reception in places where I never could before. It looks good, too. I did get a small scratch on the front already, but I'm not always easy on my phones. I purchased a clear plastic case for the phone (from ebay), and I think this should protect it from scratches and breaks. All in all, I think this is a great phone for the price. I am very happy with my purchase.

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT buy, and DON'T use Verizon   August 11, 2007

I can not tell you the frustration i have had so far with my krzr k1m phone from verizon!

Firstly, I can't use the phone's capabilities, they are disabled.
Second, there is seemingly no "back" button when using the menus, you have to start over!

I have been a Verizon customer for years now and my trouble started when I upgraded to this new phone and I am very dissatisfied with everything, their service, the phone.

former verizon fan,
Nate

3 out of 5 stars Cannot Sync with Microsoft Outlook   July 20, 2007
D. Haire (Birmingham, AL USA)

IF someone spends $40 dollars extra to purchase the Motorola Phone Tools software and even more for a connecting cable, they will find -- as other reviewers have said -- that Verizon has disabled some of the features. In addition to not allowing customers to copy their own ring tones and wallpaper to the phone, they have also disabled the ability to synchronize phone numbers, addresses and calendar items from Microsoft Outlook. This means the user has to type all their contacts in again. I find this to be a major flaw and a reason to seriously reconsider purchasing Verizon products.
