4 out of 5 stars Nice Laptop   September 3, 2010
Shawn S. (Minnesota)
I've had this for 1 month now and everything works as expected. Great spec's for the price (that's why I purchased this particular model). Runs all my programs well and is very quiet even when the fans kick on high when playing demanding games. Runs very cool when doing operations that are not very CPU intensive like surfing the web or word processing. The only time it gets a little warm is again, when playing demanding games that use allot of CPU and GPU resources. But that's to be expected. Battery life is about 2.25 hrs. if you're surfing the web. Not bad for a rig with these specs. There are however, a few things that could be better. As mentioned by previous posters, the track pad takes some getting used to. I use a low profile wireless mouse so for me that's a non-issue. The keyboard is your typical not-so-great laptop "chicklet" style. If you're going to do allot of typing, you may want to consider a usb or wireless keyboard. You can get a combo pack mouse and keyboard for a pretty reasonable price. My suggestion would be to go to Best Buy or someplace and try the keyboards on multiple brands of laptops and see for yourself what you like and dislike. I think most laptops leave a little to be desired in the keyboard category. My biggest complaint is the speakers. With all the hype of the beats audio, the speakers themselves just don't cut it. Even with the sub woofer they're not very good. Overall a very nice, fast computer with good build quality at a great price.

4 out of 5 stars Great laptop except for the mouse pad   August 29, 2010

This laptop is fast and has great capacity. The only thing is the "flat" mouse pad (no buttons) that is very annoying to use. If you are going to buy this laptop, make sure you get an external mouse. Other than that, it works great.

3 out of 5 stars help w question   August 29, 2010

there is a difference in the tech specs listed on line and the product review description. it says you can watch blu ray DVDs. but an optical drive is not listed in the tech specs. Does it have an optical drive, AND is it blu ray?????

question 2 - does it come with any software other than the OS? Does it come loaded with trial software that takes hours to get rid of? Does it come with the OS on a disk, so i can do a clean reinstall?

trial of microsoft office???

thank you

I've had this laptop a little over 3 months now and I can say I like it very much. The finish is nice and the processor is super fast. The laptop has tons of features. The only negative I would say about the laptop is the eject button for the dvd drive is too small for not only the avergae man but anyone.

2 out of 5 stars Would be great if it wasn't for the touchpad issue :(   August 5, 2010

Just got this laptop today. Keyboard layout is good, screen is bright and very clear. For the price it seemed like an excellent buy. However upon using it I find the touchpad to be awful and when you go to use the "click" function the mouse will randomly move around the screen.

Scroll is randomly funky as well :(

Don't buy it - you'll hate the touchpad.
